Students are enrolling in new dental assisting program
Online PR News – 07-November-2017 – Memphis, Tenn. – Remington College Memphis Campus is now enrolling students in its new Dental Assisting diploma program.
The curriculum can cover an array of topics such as oral anatomy and oral radiology as well as other specific dental procedures. On average, the program can be completed in as few as eight months and included in the cost of tuition1 is the first attempt at both the Dental Assistant Registration and Dental Radiology Certification from the Tennessee Board of Dentistry.
Students will get hands-on training in the skills that could qualify for an entry-level position as a dental assistant.2
Dental assistants are critical to performing a number of functions including:
• Making impressions and casts of patients’ teeth
• Creating temporary crowns
• Assisting a dentist with oral procedures and surgery
• Educating dental patients on preventive dentistry
• Taking dental x-rays
The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that employment for dental assistants will grow by 18% from 2014 to 2024 much faster than the average of all occupations3, thanks to population growth, rising emphasis on dental care and the increasingly important role dental assistants play.
