FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
HAMPTON, VA – Greenland Enterprises has been selected to replace six critical air handling units at the H.H. McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond, VA. The company was awarded the two projects based in large part on its expertise with complex, custom air handling solutions.
The air handling units in question serve important medical areas of the hospital, including operating rooms, labs, in-patient units and mental health spaces.
“For projects of this type we pay particular attention to the medical center needs, such as infection control using negative air machines during demolition, and special welding equipment that reduce the chance of creating negative air quality,” said Greenland President Elton Roller.
The project includes demolition and removal of existing infrastructure, and configuring and installing new air handling units while the medical center is operational. As part of the project Greenland will install and commission temporary systems to operate during construction, ensuring minimal (if any) downtime for the hospital.
Greenland Enterprises specializes in the design, development, renovation and construction of central utility plants, complex air handling needs, combined heat and power plants, and modular chilled water systems. The firm’s unique approach places equal emphasis on design and construction to maximize efficiency, life-cycle costs and owner investment. The company is headquartered in Hampton, Virginia with regional offices in Raleigh, North Carolina and Boston, Massachusetts. More information is available at www.GreenlandEnterprises.com.
