Debut Novel by A.A. Castro Brings Pulp Action and Adventure

The hidden tomb of a God-King. The lost treasure of long-gone empire. A criminal mastermind bent on controlling an entire continent. A scientific wizard from the past as the last and only hope for the world. A mystery that spans centuries and continents. In his new novel “The Curse of the Golden Inca” A.A. Castro has tied all those elements together to write one of the most exciting pulp action/adventure stories of 2011.

Online PR News – 10-January-2011 – – Young at Heart Communication, LLC, announces the release of A.A. Castro’s debut novel titled “The Curse of the Golden Inca.” An avid reader and student of history, Mr. Castro has mixed the pulp adventures, murder mysteries, horror and history novels he has always loved to create an exciting story that takes the reader on a relentless and heart-stopping adventure that spans the Americas. The book is available for sale on Amazon at in print and Kindle editions.

In “The Curse of the Golden Inca,” Mr. Castro has fused his love of history with something else he’s loved since childhood: the great masked mystery-men heroes of pulp’s Golden Age. Mixing elements from The Shadow, The Spider, Doc Savage, and Fantomas, Mr. Castro has created the super-heroic Doctor Zachariah Schull (pronounced ‘skull’) as his protagonist. He is a classic anti-hero, a genius from the past who was falsely accused in his time and now struggles to control his thirst for revenge against the world and to help those whom the law or the government cannot help.

Monica S. of Brazil, reader of “The Curse of The Golden Inca” says, “Breathtaking. That’s how I would describe this novel by A. A. Castro, which sets the story in a spiritual and mystical place: Peru. So, what can one expect when action, suspense, a creative storyline, history and romance are blended together? An intriguing read, indeed.”

When asked why he chose to base his first novel in such an exotic locale as the Inca Empire, Mr. Castro replied “It’s a great setting that has been neglected by too many writers. My family is from Lima, Peru and I lived there as a child. I grew up learning all about the Inca Empire. Ever since my wife and I visited Machu Pichu and Huaca Pucllana in 2005, I have always wanted to write a story where I could use the mystery and intrigue surrounding both of these sites.”
