Alyx Smith was born in northwestern Ohio. She began a love affair with reading, writing, and art at a young age. Finding direction at sixteen, Alyx unearthed a zeal for writing and honed her skills into a passion that led to earning seven Scholastic Art & Writing Awards between 2009 and 2010, including a Gold Key for her Senior Writing Portfolio and receiving a National Silver Medal for her short story, “Chalk Dust” at Carnegie Hall in New York, NY. Though she is currently in college studying Graphic Design, she continues to write and hopes to publish a full-length novel one day.
