The 2011 International Finance Conference will focus on financial markets and corporate finance.
Online PR News – 06-January-2011 – – The Union Finance Minister of India, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, in presence of Chairman, IIMC Board, Mr. Ajit Balakrishnan; Director, Prof. Shekhar Chaudhuri and Conference Coordinator Prof. Ashok Banerjee would inaugurate the International Finance Conference 2011 being organised by IIM Calcutta at its campus at Joka on January 10, 2011.
The conference will continue till January 12, 2011. The 2011 International Finance Conference will focus on financial markets and corporate finance. The Conference will discuss latest research and global practices in risk management, corporate investment and financing choices, scenario planning, and asset liability management. A tutorial session has been organized on January 9, 2011 which will be attended by 30 participants.
Four keynote speakers will address the conference participants: M. Suresh Sundaresan, Chase Manhattan Bank Professor of Economics and Finance at Columbia University, will speak on the topic of "Global Economic Crisis: Public Sector Interventions"; Thomas Noe, Ernest Butten Professor of Management Studies at the Saïd Business School, will speak on "The Economics of CEO Compensation"; Jeffrey Wurgler, Nomura Professor of Finance at the Stern School of Business, NYU will speak on "The Effect of Reference Point Prices on Mergers and Acquisitions" and Gautam Mitra, an internationally renowned research scientist in the field of Operational Research, will speak on "The Use of Quantified News Sentiments and News Analytics in Financial Models for Investment and Risk Control".
The conference will host about 150 participants from several countries including UK, Czech Republic, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Germany, Taiwan, Nigeria, Bangladesh and India.
