Mumbai: CIMA, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants has launched the CIMA Gateway Assessment (CGA), an accelerated entry route to the CIMA Professional Qualification for chartered accountants
Online PR News – 28-December-2010 – – Mumbai: CIMA, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants has launched the CIMA Gateway Assessment (CGA), an accelerated entry route to the CIMA Professional Qualification for chartered accountants
The CGA is a single examination that on passing, gives Indian chartered accountants direct entry to the final level of the CIMA professional qualification in management accounting. It also leads to an award of the CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting. The CGA can be taken globally at an approved exam centre. It draws on content from the management level of the CIMA syllabus:
Andrew Harding, Executive Director CIMA said that, “The CIMA Gateway Assessment is recognition of the excellence of the Indian Chartered Accountancy qualification. CIMA earlier granted 7-8 exemptions to members of the ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India). With the gateway route we have extended this to 11 exemptions and also made the route to CIMA more cost efficient for candidates. We hope that this new entry route helps chartered accountants to complement their existing qualification faster.”
There are two CGA exam sittings per year, May and November. In order to guarantee an applicant’s registration is processed in time, following are the deadline dates:
For May 2011 CIMA exams, register by 31 January 2011.
For November 2011 CIMA exams, register by 31 July 2011
