â€śPrestigious NEWH Award of Excellence will go to David Mahood and Lynda P Sullivan at January NEWH Leadership Conference Scholarâ€™s and Awards Dinner after Harry Potter tourâ€ť
Online PR News – 24-December-2010 – – Orlando, Florida - December 24, 2010 -- NEWH will host the biennial Scholarâ€™s Dinner and Award of Excellence celebration on January 15th at the Universal Orlando Resort during the NEWH Leadership Conference.
The evening will be jam packed with events, starting off with experiencing the new â€śWizarding World of Harry Potterâ€ť themed land at Universalâ€™s Islands of Adventure from 5:00-7:00 pm.
Dinner and the awards ceremony will take place immediately after at CityWalkâ€™s Rising Star club beginning at 7pm. David Mahood, LEED AP, Olive Hospitality Consulting and Lynda P. Sullivan, Sullivan Hospitality Marketing Associates will each receive NEWHâ€™s prestigious Award of Excellence. The biennial award honors a man and a woman who has contributed extraordinary time and effort to NEWH, has a minimum of 10 years experience in the hospitality industry, has held a local chapter or international board position, and has mentored four people in the industry, at least two of whom are women.
The night will also honor past student scholarship winners (both on the chapter and international level), allowing them to share their personal tales of how NEWH has benefited them. â€śScholarship and education is the primary mission of NEWH and meeting the students is very rewarding for our membership who works very hard to raise funds for scholarships,â€ť explains NEWHâ€™s executive director, Shelia Lohmiller.
As a preface to the evening, Thierry Coup, VP creative development, Universal Creative, will share a presentation of â€śThe Making of the Wizarding World of Harry Potterâ€ť on Saturday afternoon at the NEWH Leadership Conference. He will discuss the design development, fabrication, and
installation of Universalâ€™s newest attraction, as well as the collaboration between author JK Rowling, Warner Brothers, and Universal Studios to bring the vision to life. Only registered conference attendees can sit in on this exciting and educational exclusive session.
