Popular Cast Member, Dwight Eubanks, Leads Ciroc, Peroni and Star-Studded Crowd In Upscale Launch Of Hit Novel, “Friends and Fauxs”
Online PR News – 20-October-2009 – – Bravotv.com, one of the most popular online entertainment destinations in the world, premiered exclusive footage of the launch party for Tracie Howard’s hit novel, “Friends and Fauxs” on their website yesterday. Ms. Howard’s appearance marks the first time the ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ series has featured a contemporary Black fiction Author in one of their filmed vignettes for the show.
Hosted by its effervescent co-star, Dwight Eubanks, and sponsored by Ciroc, Peroni, SmartWater and The Crusher Wine, the evening was a glittering affair capped by celebrity sightings and a special reading flawlessly performed by local Atlanta actors including Kaira Akita, who starred in Tyler Perry’s, “Why Did I Get Married”.
When asked why celebrating the launch of Ms. Howard’s latest work was important to him, Mr. Eubanks was both enthusiastic and introspective, “First, I love her and I love her books”, he said with a characteristic wave of his hand. Taking on a more serious tone, Dwight continued, “Tracie shares my belief that African Americans are multi-dimensional consumers. Her success bears this out since she focuses on high-level denominators not normally associated with this audience: global travel, couture fashion and beauty, and sensuality, as opposed to pure sexuality. That’s why I believe people gravitate to her work so easily. Showcasing this aesthetic on film is something we both aspire to and are deeply passionate about”.
“Friends and Fauxs” has already received rave reviews from EBONY and ESSENCE,
while expanding an already substantial base for Ms. Howard. In detailing how her work reflects
the way that her fans live, she explained, “As a writer, I always strive to engage readers on more
than one emotional level, whether it takes place through romance, elements of suspense or plot
intrigue. Blending these elements with imagery that is, at once, sexy, glamorous and provocative
makes quite a potent mix.” She went on to add an important footnote, “I believe this is why
my novels have great word-of-mouth, regardless of whether someone knows who I am or not.”
Bria Bryant of The Opulent Agency and Glenn Bean of VIPDistinct were jointly-responsible
for the planning surrounding the evening’s flow. Tracie, a Random House author, is a proud
native and resident of Atlanta. Her previous works include the best-seller, “Gold Diggers”,
and” Why Sleeping Dogs Lie”.
