MUSICMAKERS WORKSHOP: GETTING DOWN TO MUSIC BUSINESS
MusicMakers to provide Music Career Development Workshop Series
in Berkeley, CA; Brooklyn, NY; and Kansas City, MO
New York, NY -- On July 6th, MusicMakers Workshop will kick off a 3-city series of events focused on music career development. The MusicMakers Workshops feature keynote speeches and panel discussions on branding, marketing, booking, publishing, copyright law, health, and teamwork. Break-out sessions allow attendees to work on their personal strategy in small groups with discussion leaders.
“We go to school to learn a skill; however, we are not taught to make a career or business of that skill. MusicMakers Workshop is here to address that issue,” says Ray Archie, Executive Director.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 36% of musicians are self-employed. Music career development has become more and more important. MusicMakers Workshop is working on that challenge and is pulling together top music industry professionals to help with this. MusicMakers has designed a program to help artists to define their brand, tell their story, expand their available revenue streams, and maintain a healthy work/life balance.
MusicMakers Workshops will be held at the following locations:
Kauffman Conference Center, Kansas City, MO -- July 6th-July 8th
The Crowden Music Center, Berkeley, CA -- July 29th-July 31st
ShapeShifter Lab, Brooklyn, NY -- August 17th - 19th
MusicMakers is presented by the non-profit Notes to the Soul and sponsored by MixLuv - an online music collaboration platform.
