Michael A. Pinckney screens his highly acclaimed film turned hotly coveted TV pilot, “The Trade,” at the The People's Film Festival in Harlem, NY June 2, 2017

Online PR News – 11-May-2017 – New York City, New York – New York, May 8, 2017 - Michael Pinckney is at it again. The creative genius is close to closing a
deal for his dramatic anthology television series, “The Trade.” “We’re still in the pitching, funding and
attachment phase,” Pinckney said.

“The Trade” follows the lives of an award winning photojournalist, a young prostitute, a human trafficking
advocate, a retired vice cop and a flamboyant pimp as their respective lives intersect and their
destinies intertwine. Similar to HBO’s True Detective and FX's American Horror Story, which all use
an anthology format, each season takes place in a different city with selected cast members. Additional
storylines and plot point changes keep the series and premise fresh and unpredictable.

The 15 minute pilot presentation version of the series screens Friday, June 2, 2017, at
Harlem’s Maysles Cinema (343 Malcolm X Blvd at 127th Street) as part of The Peoples Film Festival.

“There’s been an increase in awareness about domesticsex trafficking in the U.S, which is why there’s
so much interest in my project by funders and potential networks,” said Pinckney. “‘The Trade’ is a
story that hasn’t been told; a world that’s rarely explored in a narrative form.”

The gritty drama’s ensemble cast includes Tobias Truvillion, who appeared on the USA Network’s
White Collar and the FOX hit series Empire and Off-Broadway actors Daniel J. O’Brien and Prentiss
Marquis. Pinckney is repped by attorney Jaia Thomas.

Pinckney’s feature debut, You’re Nobody ‘Til Somebody Kills You, starred Doug E. Fresh, Big Daddy
Kane, and Ed Lover, and was executive produced by Spike Lee and distributed by Lionsgate.
