Siborg Announces a Discount for Students and Educators on LCR-meters & Devices in LCR-Reader Store

From March 28th to August 31st, 2017, all devices and accessories are offered at a discount to educators, students and educational institutions

Online PR News – 06-April-2017 – Waterloo, Ontario – Waterloo, Ontario based Siborg Systems Inc. is offering a discounted price on all devices, parts and accessories to educational institutes and students until the end of August 2017 in their online store. The sale includes LCR-Reader and Smart Tweezers LCR- and ESR-meters, including the LCR-Reader Pro and Smart Tweezers Bluetooth models. Siborg’s other devices, such as the LED Tester and SMD Test Tweezers, are available at a discount.

Since the early 2000’s, Siborg has been offering SMT testing solutions, including the Smart Tweezers and LCR-Reader LCR- and ESR-meters. The Smart Tweezers line revolutionized testing the small components by combining a set of tweezers with a lightweight multimeter that offered high basic accuracy and high speed measurements. When the device grasps a component, the device decides the type of component and best test range and frequency before measuring; all values, including primary and secondary values, type of component and test mode are instantly displayed on the built in screen.

The LCR-Reader is a lower-priced model that offers the same experience of Smart Tweezers with less featuers and a slightly lower basic accuracy of 0.5%. Siborg recently began offering NIST traceable calibration certificates for this model.

“The ability to quickly identify and measure the value of a component is especially important in a school lab where students do electronic experiments.” says Michael Obrecht, the Director of R&D at Siborg, “Modern components are very small and mostly not visually identifiable from one another. Once you put a few of them together on a desk, there is no way to distinguish them and they end up thrown away. With just one touch of the LCR-Reader or Smart Tweezers, you can tell exactly what the component is and thus saves costs on components.”

Smart Tweezers devices have more features and functions, as well as a higher basic accuracy of 0.2% as well as more features such as continuity/diode testing, component sorting and offset subtraction. Siborg has recently begun offering a Bluetooth version of this model that allows users to automatically record their measurement data over a remote connection; this data can be saved to spreadsheets or databases for later processing. Smart Tweezers with Bluetooth also allows users to set custom profiles that pass or fail components based on specifications set by the receiver program.

SMD Multimeter Test Tweezers that connect to most multimeters wiht 4mm jack plugs. This device allows for tweezer-probe precision while testing components.
LED Tester Tweezers with 12VDC output and adjustable current ratings of 20, 10 and 5 mA. The tweezer-based device can test LEDs, SMT components and circuitry when connected to a multimeter using the included connector cable
LCR-Reader/Smart Tweezers Kelvin Probe Connector: a shielded two-wire connector that turns LCR-Reader and Smart Tweezers into a full probing station and allows to measure components outside the tweezers’ spread. Siborg has recently begun offering new Fine and Extra-Fine probes for the KPC.
