UTair India Pvt. Ltd. has on 4th November 2010 obtained Non-Scheduled Air Operator Permit (Helicopters) to provide exclusively helicopter services in India. UTair India is based at New Delhi, India and has inducted its first brand new helicopter (Registration Mark VT-UTA) Ecureuil AS 350 B3 from Eurocopter, France.
UTair India Pvt. Ltd. is the first company to bring in 100% FDI in civil helicopter aviation sector in India under the new FDI policy of the Government of India. Its parent company UTair Aviation is the biggest helicopter service provider in Russia having an annual turnover of over USD 1 billion. The Indian subsidiary has been set up to develop the flying operations in the Asia and Pacific region.
Eurocopter’s AS350 B3 high-performance, light single-engine helicopter is adapted to extreme operating conditions including very high altitudes and the transportation of heavy loads. The AS 350 B3 can carry up to five passengers in cabin or up to 1400 kg load on external sling. The AS350 B3 outclasses all other helicopters in its category for power, flexibility, and safety. It is the most suitable helicopter for aerial survey work and UTair India’s helicopter is already fitted with the required equipment. The company also plans to utilise this fast and comfortable helicopter for heli-ambulance, religious and other tourism circuits, corporate charter, adventure sports and utility load carrying missions.
The company plans to provide helicopter transport services to the oil and gas sector besides other sectors in India and other countries in the region by using suitable type of helicopters.
