Bristol Sellers Save Thousands Using iSold’s New Service

The first people to sell their homes using Bristol’s newest estate agency iSold have saved thousands of pounds in estate agency fees

Online PR News – 26-November-2010 – – Bristol was chosen as the launch location for iSold, which offers the best a traditional agency has to offer but without a high street presence. Sellers who register with iSold, now an established Estate Agent in Bristol, are charged a flat fee of just £1499 plus VAT, substantially cutting the cost of selling a property.
The innovative service, using the website combined with online advertising, has been developed by the UK’s largest independent estate agency group Spicerhaart and is in association with Tesco.
Jennie Brown was one of the first people to sell her home using iSold. She put her three-bed detached property in Bradley Stoke on the market and sold it within a few days for £3,000 more than the asking price of £227,000.
If she had paid traditional estate agency fees of 1.5% she would have had to pay £4,054 in fees instead of £1499, saving a massive £2,293 by using iSold.
She said: “We were thinking how best to put the property on the market when we received a leaflet through the door from iSold and this spurred us into action.
“The property went online on a Friday – and by the following Monday, we had nine people to look at it! Three people put in sealed bids for the house – and within a few days, it had sold for £230,000!
“The iSold system makes everything easier – and the more money you can save, the better. Most people these days view properties on the internet anyway – there’s no need to go into an estate agent’s office and get them to show you round a lot of houses.”
Vivian and Samantha Pooley who bought the property also praised iSold for helping them find their new home. Mr Pooley said: "We're first-time buyers and new to the experience and found everyone at iSold was very helpful. As a virtual office but with local people in the area, we found it be a very efficient system."

The iSold service includes a free expert valuation and home consultation, high quality professional property details and a stylish iSold For Sale sign as well as advertising on all the major property portals and 24/7 access to the iSold website.
Nicola and Paul Goold saved nearly £1,500 when they sold their two-bedroom Victorian terraced house in the Brislington area of Bristol through iSold.
They said: "We chose iSold after seeing an advert in the local newspaper for the £1499 fee. The price was such a big attraction and it seemed a great way to sell. We’ll use the money we saved towards decorating our new home.”

iSold Managing Director Jon Evans said: “We are offering an alternative option to the traditional high street estate agency that can help sellers save thousands of pounds. Our consumers have total control and can have as much or as little assistance from our centralised branch managers and local valuation team as they want, depending on the package they buy. What’s more, we provide every buyer and seller using iSold with an unbelievable 5,000 Tesco Clubcard points, which is just our way of saying thanks.
“We have already had considerable interest in Bristol and it is encouraging to see sellers take advantage of this new estate agency model. By harnessing new technology, customers can make huge cost savings.”
