Online PR News – 22-November-2010 – – The Freelance Marketplace Review, compiled by WhichLance.com found that spending across the leading 10 freelance marketplaces had increased to $78.6m USD in Q3 2010, an 11.75% increase on Q2.
The report compiles data from the top 10 freelance marketplaces to provide an independent review of online outsourcing. Other key findings in the Q3 report were that oDesk and Elance increased their market leading position with their market share up 1% in the quarter to over 70% of the total spending. oDesk was clear market leader by billings, with $32.6m in spending, equal to almost 40% of the total spending recorded.
Elance increased the size of its freelance workforce by over 80% in the reporting period to 129,697. Meanwhile Australian based Freelancer.com passed the 1.8m registered users threshold making it the leading marketplace by number of users and volume of traffic.
Little known marketplace LimeExchange posted significant increases in turnover, with billings up $250,000 in the reporting period, and increase of 56% over the 2nd quarter of 2010.
