Leading mobile phone recycler RPC Recycle & Comm Tech host fireworks display in aid of East Anglian Air Ambulance service.
Online PR News – 18-November-2010 – – Staff from Comm-Tech and cash for mobiles specialist RPC Recycle organised a charity fireworks display on Saturday 6th November in aid of the East Anglian Air Ambulance service, which attracted donations totalling £515. More than 100 members of staff, family and friends attended the bonfire night, which was hosted by the managing director of both companies, Justin Millar, and featured a dazzling array of fireworks.
Fundraising for the East Anglian Air Ambulance is also carried out by RPC Recycle throughout the year, through a process of recycling mobile phones donated by members of the public. Mobile handsets ranging from new models through to old or broken mobiles are sent in – all of which are worth something to the charity. The current total raised for 2010 stands at £1134.00.
Justin Millar commented: “The East Anglian Air Ambulance helps to save lives every day by getting a doctor on-site at an accident really quickly and then rushing the patient to hospital in a fraction of the time of an ambulance. The helicopters play a vital role in these rural areas, where it can take an ambulance longer to reach someone in need, so we are really proud to support them to keep them in the air.”
Receiving no funding from the government or from lottery grants, the East Anglian Air Ambulance relies completely on donations from the public. In order to maintain the two helicopters and associated equipment, the service requires £3 million a year.
To donate your old mobile phones to East Anglian Air Ambulance, simply send them to ‘Freepost, Recycled Phone Scheme’ including a note stating you wish to donate the value of the handset to EAAA.
