Saturday, November 26th (all day): One More Page participates in Small Business Saturday® and Arlington Small Business Day, national and local movements to encourage holiday shoppers to patronize local businesses during one of the busiest weekends of the holiday shopping season. Free coffee and doughnuts will be offered in the morning followed by raffle prizes throughout the day. A free wine tasting will begin at 5 pm along with bookseller karaoke. Free gift wrapping for store items purchased throughout the day will be provided by One More Page staff and volunteers.
Wednesday, November 30th at 7 pm: Stephen Harding returns to One More Page to discuss and sign his new release, “Dawn of Infamy: A Sunken Ship, a Vanished Crew, and the Final Mystery of Pearl Harbor.” Based on years of research, “Dawn of Infamy” explores both the military and human aspects of one of the most enduring nautical mysteries in the opening days of the Pacific War – the mysterious vanishing of the lumber carrier Cynthia Olson and her crew.
Friday, December 2nd at 6:30 pm: The store hosts a wine tasting featuring the best of holiday wines.
Saturday, December 3rd at 3 pm: One More Page spreads holiday cheer with several children’s authors sharing goodies and reading from their books, including Marty Rhodes Figley (“Santa’s Underwear”); Jacqueline Jules (“Zapato Power: Freddie Ramos Rules New York” and “Sofia Martinez: Singing Superstar”); and Laura Murray (“The Gingerbread Man Loose at Christmas”). Heidi Mordhorst and Jacqueline Jules will also share from “One Minute Till Bedtime,” a rich anthology of short poems perfect for holiday gift-giving.
Thursday, December 8th at 7 pm: Robert O'Harrow Jr. discusses and signs “The Quartermaster: Montgomery C. Meigs, Lincoln's General, Master Builder of the Union Army” at Central Library, 1015 North Quincy Street, Arlington, VA 22201.
Friday, December 9th at 7 pm: Jeff Cioletti visits the store to share from “Beer FAQ: All That’s Left to Know About the World’s Most Celebrated Adult Beverage,” a history of how the craft beer market became so popular and also a no-nonsense guide to the varieties of beer and the best ways to enjoy them.
