Author Ro Green's Rock-inspired Story 'Don't Stop Believing' Tops the Charts

This jukebox musical, set in Edinburgh's Fringe Festival, blends romance, comedy and pure escapism with excellent music. Available at only $1.99 for one week.

Online PR News – 11-November-2016 – Coventry, U.K. – This 'fantastically original and engaging' novella is a complete breakaway for bestselling author Ro Green, who describes it as a project dear to her heart. She picks up the tale: "Journey has been my favourite band since the early eighties when I danced round the front room to 'Escape,' drawn to the superb story-telling in every song. In 2008, I spent a week in hospital, recovering from an operation, and needed to occupy my time. I wrote a musical (as you do!), based on twenty of Journey's greatest hits. I've always had the idea of turning it into a story, and now here it is, the number one Hot New Release in Musicals on both sides of the pond. Totally Awesome!"

The story is 'Faithfully' tailored to the sentiment of each song, and the main characters are determined by the situations suggested by the lyrics. Finding a credible setting for the disparate story threads to intertwine might have proved challenging, but the diverse nature of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival adds a quirky element so often found in jukebox musicals like 'We Will Rock You' and 'Rock of Ages.'

As Journey fans will know, relationships are at the core of their sensitive, emotional ballads, so it's no surprise that 'Don't Stop Believing' is a character-driven story exploring three contrasting relationships.

Jean Grainger, bestselling author of 'The Tour' says this. "The way the three stories entwine cleverly highlights the differences in attitudes between a couple meeting for the first time, another trying to patch up a dying marriage and a third who are tentatively rekindling an old passion."

Part of Ro's research included reading Neil Daniels' excellent biography, 'Don't Stop Believin': The Untold Story Of Journey,' and she contacted the music journalist for advice. She's thrilled by his endorsement: "A nostalgia-filled AOR romp for seasoned rockers. Hugely enjoyable and highly entertaining."

Critical acclaim for this 'unique and original' format is already gathering: The number one best-selling author of 'The Omega Series,' Andrea Domanski says, "Don't Stop Believing is a quick, fun read with diverse and engaging characters. My first venture into a musical-based story, it won’t be my last."

Lesley Morrissey, Reputation Marketing Specialist, adds, "I could certainly see Don't Stop Believing as a musical play on stage; the dialogue has a sharpness and fresh wit. Ms Green has an unerring ability to draw characters that the reader 'gets' really quickly – to the point where you have to know what happens to them."

Veronica Richards, best-selling author of 'The Heartless Fey,' claims to have been swept away by the fast-paced plot. "This world of music and relationships held surprises, as I thought the author was going one direction and then pivoted in the end to a much more satisfying conclusion than I expected. All round, a delightful read."

A final word from Ro: "I was a little concerned that people might not appreciate this ambitious project, but so far people are enjoying it. My biggest hope is that someone will like the idea enough to collaborate in bringing this to stages in the West End and on Broadway."

Released on November 11th, 'Don't Stop Believing' is available at the discounted price of $1.99 (or £1.63 in the UK), but only for the next week – it will be at the normal price of $4.99/£3.95 on 18th November.rnDetails of Ro Green’s books can be found at – buy 'Don't Stop Believing' at
