Online PR News – 11-November-2016 – Greenville, SC – The City of Simpsonville and Harley-Davidson of Greenville are hosting the 14th Annual Motorcycle Toys for Tots Ride on Saturday, November 19. This is the largest charity ride of the year and registration will begin, rain or shine, at 10 am at Heritage Park in Simpsonville.
Each year between 1,000 and 1,500 bikers take part in the annual Toys for Tots Motorcycle Ride. An unwrapped toy is all it takes to register for the ride or a donation of $10.
This is an escorted ride with the first group leaving promptly at 11:30 am and heading towards Harley-Davidson of Greenville, 30 Chrome Drive, Greenville, SC.
Live entertainment by Greg Payne and The Piedmont Boys will be provided upon conclusion of the ride at Harley-Davidson of Greenville. Lunch and drinks will be available for purchase from Quaker Steak & Lube.
“This is one of the most important rides we do all year,” says Chesley Campbell, Harley-Davidson of Greenville, Marketing Manager. “The toys that are donated benefit Upstate children who might not have a Christmas this year.”
This ride is a collaboration between the City of Simpsonville, Harley-Davidson of Greenville, A1 Audio, WSSL 100.5, Simpsonville Parks & Recreation, Quaker Steak & Lube, Greenville HOG, Boiling Springs Fire Department, Greenville County Sherriff’s Office, Simpsonville Fire Department, Simpsonville Police, Greenville City Fire Department, Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Chapter 34-2, Upstate Young Marines and the U.S. Marine Corps.
“It doesn’t take much to put a smile on the face of a needy child in the Upstate,” states Staff Sargent Burton Blackfox. “We look forward to this time of year and get excited about all of the generosity from the biker community.”
Over the past 13 years, Harley-Davidson’s partnership with the Toys for Tots program has grown in participation. Last year the Toy Run brought in 4,000 toys and over $1,000. According to the Toys for Tots Upstate division, the Marines distributed nearly 60,000 toys to over 2,500 families in the Upstate last year alone.
