Former Lafayette Athlete, Mark Dutkewych Inducted into Maroon Club Hall of Fame
Online PR News – 08-November-2010 – – Mark Dutkewych was a four-year letterwinner on the men's soccer team. He was a member and captain of several highly successful Lafayette teams, including a 1995 Patriot League championship squad that advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The defender was also a captain of the 1994 Leopards that captured the Patriot League title.
The 1994 and 1995 Patriot League Defender of the Year, Mark Dutkewych started 73 games in the back and received numerous other accolades during his four years on College Hill. He was named to the All-Patriot League team from 1992-95, the All-Mid Atlantic Region team from 1992-95 and as a junior was a selection to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-America team. Mark Dutkewych was also a two-time Scholar Athlete All-American. His highest honors came his senior year when he received the Charles L. Albert '08 Senior Award, presented to the top student-athlete in each year's senior class, as well as the George L. Tiger, Jr. Hall of Fame award for the most outstanding athlete.
The Leopards boasted a 39-29-8 record during the four years Mark Dutkewych was a member of the team. He finished his career with five goals and 11 assists.arrest He was also a member of the 1990-2000 Patriot League All-Decade Team, one of just two Lafayette players to earn that distinction.
