Synopsis: A newborn baby is abandoned on the streets by his 14-year-old mother. What happens next will change the course of his destiny forever.

Named Most Influential and Interesting Woman in the Coachella Valley by CV Weekly in August 2016, Carey directed, wrote and produced The Assumptions. She explained the message behind “The Assumptions.” "This film exposes the many assumptions people make daily about all sorts of things without having solid facts. ‘The Assumptions’ will expose the woes of bitterness, intrusive curiosity pride. This film depicts the dangers of holding on to the past and not being satisfied with Gods provision."

Influenced by the works of Alex Kendrick (War Room) and inspired by the work ethic of Shonda Rhimes (Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy), Carey made her directorial debut with family drama feature “The Unexpected” in 2015. This film screened at the Miami Independent Film Festival, Los Angeles Cine Fest, iChill Manila International Film Festival and Christian Online Film Festival and includes a stellar ensemble cast, introducing La Shawn Porter, Kyli Tapia, Brian Moore and Brittany Majors.

“The Assumptions” stars newcomers Brian Moore, Diana Hintergardt, Joan Hangarter, Marcus Lantero, Domingo Winstead, Delyn Meyers, Jason Hackett, Franchesca Zabata and Mary Electra and will premiere at the iconic Camelot Theater on February 27, 2017.
