Symposia & dinner to provide cutting edge information on prostate cancer

Online PR News – 24-October-2016 – Austin, Texas – Prostate Conditions Education Council (PCEC), a national organization committed to men's health and a leader in prostate cancer screening, invites patients, advocates, caregivers and the general public to join the Austin Prostate Cancer Patient Education Symposia & Dinner at Olive & June located at 3411 Glenview Ave in Austin, TX on November 10, 2016 from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM.

The event, led by Dr. Thomas Keane one of the top prostate cancer physicians in the country, will provide information on early detection, prostate cancer markers, FDA approved treatment options and understanding treatment decisions for both early and advanced prostate cancer as well as information on post treatment side effects such as erectile dysfunction.

"Forums that offer prostate cancer patients and caregivers the opportunity to hear from leading physicians are invaluable," said Wendy Poage, President of PCEC. "It's critical for patients to fully understand what their options are and to feel supported as they navigate what can often be an overwhelming process."

The Symposia will also include a question and answer session where attendees will have the opportunity to get Dr. Keane's expert opinion.

Dr. Keane is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Urology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Dr. Keane specializes in managing prostate, bladder, and renal cancers. An avid researcher, Dr. Keane has served as principal investigator or co-investigator on more than twenty major clinical and preclinical studies. His research has led to publication of more than 100 peer-reviewed articles in journals including The Journal of Urology, Urologic Oncology, and the Journal of Vascular Surgery.
