Symposia & dinner to provide cutting edge information on prostate cancer
Online PR News – 18-October-2016 – PHOENIX, A.Z. – Prostate Conditions Education Council (PCEC), a national organization committed to men's health and a leader in prostate cancer screening, invites the nursing community to join the Phoenix Prostate Cancer Nurse Education Symposia & Dinner at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort located at 7200 N Scottsdale Rd. Paradise Valley, AZ on November 7, 2016 from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM.
This Continuing Education event, led by Dr. David Crawford, one of the top prostate cancer physicians in the country, will aim to give participating nurses new and current information about each of the key areas of prostate cancer including early detection, biomarkers and genomic testing, encouraging clinical trial participation, choosing early treatment options and ensuring access to advanced treatment options at the most optimal time as a patient’s cancer progresses.
“Forums that offer prostate cancer nurses the opportunity to hear from leading physicians are invaluable,” said Wendy Poage, President of PCEC. “Nurses’ patient-facing role requires them to stay current on care and treatment options, allowing them to offer patients sound guidance and support.”
Dr. Crawford has served as the Chairman of PCEC since 1989. He is a professor of surgery, professor of radiation oncology, and head of the Section of Urologic Oncology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center (UCHSC) in Denver. Dr. Crawford is a nationally recognized expert in prostate cancer, and the recipient of more than 95 research grants. He has authored or co-authored over 300 articles published in such journals as Urology, The New England Journal of Medicine, and the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.
