BrightStar, a full-service, non-medical home care and medical staffing agency, announces the expansion of its care giving network and opening of its newest location at 161 Waterdam Road in McMurray.
Online PR News – 04-November-2010 – – BrightStar, a full-service, non-medical home care and medical staffing agency, announces the expansion of its care giving network and opening of its newest location at 161 Waterdam Road in McMurray. BrightStar of Washington/Greene Counties will serve the residents of both counties.
In addition to providing much needed home care services in the metropolitan Pittsburgh area, the new BrightStar location, owned by local resident Brian Achenbach with his wife Kim, will bring over 25 care giver jobs to the area over the next year. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, care giving remains one of the fastest growing job sectors in the country:
The expansion into the two counties is part of a national growth plan that calls for 400 total franchises by the end of 2011. Since launching the company’s franchise operations in August 2005, BrightStar has opened and/or signed more than 160 locations in various markets throughout the United States. They are also planning for international expansion in 2010.
“We are incredibly excited about our arrival into Washington and Greene Counties,” said Shelly Sun, CEO and co-founder of BrightStar. “As specialists in the rapidly growing healthcare industry, we empower our owners to live our values and provide compassionate care and service, anytime, any place.”
According to a collective report by the Centers for Disease Control, AARP and the American Medical Association, by 2015, one of every five Americans will be between the ages of 50 and 64. As they enter this age group, 70 percent will already be diagnosed with at least one chronic condition and nearly half will have two or more. The resulting disease and disability may seriously compromise their ability to carry out activities of daily living, and BrightStar can assist this group with such activities, and nursing care needs if their condition worsens.
Inspired by a family experience, BrightStar is a full-service healthcare staffing agency that specializes in providing non-medical homecare to private clients within their homes, as well as supplemental healthcare staff to corporate clients such as hospitals and nursing homes. While senior citizens make up the majority of the company’s private duty clientele, BrightStar also works with pediatric and worker compensation cases, long term care and Veteran clients, as well as private trust and public guardian payers. BrightStar is also active in school nursing programs, retail health clinics and provides day care services.
A 20-year veteran of the corporate world, owner Brian left his high-level position at a pharmaceutical company this past February. His entrepreneurial spirit, blended with a desire to provide a service to his community, led Brian to open a business with his wife, Kim, who runs the sales and marketing arm of their office. Together their business provides non-medical home care services as well as medical staffing to health care facilities.
“While one door closed, another opened directly before me” Brian Achenbach said. “Leaving my corporate job, I knew I wanted to do something in my community and in health care; BrightStar offered the best overall support and the best business model with the highest standards of care and customer service and it allowed us to give back, which was the new opportunity we were searching for.”
