Joining forces with the Staffordshire University Knowledge Transfer Partnership has proved a very successful union for Trentham fine wood working company Clive Durose Woodturners Ltd.

Online PR News – 03-November-2010 – – Joining forces with the Staffordshire University Knowledge Transfer Partnership has proved a very successful union for Trentham fine wood working company Clive Durose Woodturners Ltd. The company is benefiting from the expertise of two new design graduates, Kenny Macfarlane and Eleanor Moss and is enhancing their future prospects by funding them both to complete a Masters Degree. Kenny has already justified the confidence shown in him by winning the prestigious TJJ award for Career Development.

A direct result of the alliance with Staffordshire University is the opening of Clive Durose’s new design studio which is leading the way in innovative timber design. One of its first successes has been the formation of Precision Timber Handrails, specialising in the manufacture of bespoke, complex curved and spiral handrails.
In turn this has allowed further expansion in the form of an engineering apprenticeship scheme. The first to benefit is 20 year old Damian Gajda who is working towards an engineering NVQ.

Investing in new technology and career development means that despite the recession Clive Durose is able to continue its tradition of launching exciting new products. A brand new range, ID stairparts is set to be unveiled. The design incorporates timber stair parts, giving home owners a contemporary staircase without having to move away from the timeless, classic feel of quality timber.

“We are really excited about the launch of our new products. The feedback we have received has been outstandingly positive and we really feel we are offering stair styles that home owners have been crying out for,” said Clive Durose, Managing Director.
“The recession has changed many industries beyond recognition, and the only way to thrive and grow is to innovate. At Clive Durose we are always looking to invest in new technology, develop our staff and design new ground-breaking products,” he added.

Clive Durose is planning a wide range of launch events across Stoke-on-Trent and nationally for ID stairparts. Find out more about the company’s products at www.clivedurose.co.uk
