VFW Post 1093 To Co-Sponsor Info Event On Use Of Medical Marijuana To Treat Veterans

Ipswich, MA VFW will co-sponsor an information session on trends and techniques in using medical marijuana to treat visible and invisible wounds

Online PR News – 15-September-2016 – Ipswich, MA – FW Post 1093 announced today is co-sponsoring a free, public information event on the use of medical marijuana to treat injuries and ailments associated with military service and war. The event will be held on 29 September from 7-8:30pm at co-sponsoring American Legion Post 194, 37 School Street, Hamilton, MA 0198.

Ipswich resident and seasoned Marine Joe McCarthy is the founder of Ipswich Pharmaceutical Associates which has been issued a provisional license to open a dispensary at 31 Turnpike Road in Ipswich, MA. McCarthy is a 100% service related disabled veteran and personally familiar with the impacts of long-term chronic pain.

Joe’s unique experiences with veterans early on has made him an excellent ambassador to provide important information to his military brothers. McCarthy’s presentation will cover all current treatment options Including edibles oils and smokeless

“The DEA recently announced the first widespread study of the use of medical marijuana for treatment of PTSD symptoms,” noted Ed Marsh, Commander of VFW Post 109. “Joe’s unique experiences with veterans early on has made him an excellent ambassador to provide important information to his military brothers." McCarthy’s presentation will cover all current treatment options, Including edibles, oils and smokeless “vapes”.“I’ve seen this make a huge difference in people’s lives.” says McCarthy. “I’ve invested 5 years in the permitting process for our facility – and through that I’ve focused on opportunities to help people. Veterans are one of the groups that may stand to benefit the most. I’m excited to present on the topic.”

Hamilton American Legion Post 194 Commander Greg McKenna is a 30 year veteran of Army Special Forces with extensive medical experience. “I’ve seen amazing success with various treatments over the years. The use of medical marijuana is a choice that veterans should make with their doctors, but there’s no doubt that many veterans bear painful wounds – visible and invisible.
