Ipswich, MA VFW Post structures fundraising agreement with Black Dog ATM, LLC to automatically support non profit Stop Soldier Suicide
Online PR News – 07-September-2016 – Ipswich, MA – VFW Post 1093 announced today that it had entered into an agreement to simultaneously enhance member services and to support the critically important effort to reduce the epidemic of suicides among active duty military and veterans.
The innovative approach was pioneered by Army veteran and entrepreneur Nick Ford, founder of Black Dog ATM. The former Army Ranger and veteran of multiple combat tours conceived the business model when he recognized the importance of structuring passive fundraising opportunities for charities that support veterans. “I’m thrilled that VFW Post 1093 has embraced this model that makes it so easy for everyone to help veterans struggling with invisible wounds - just by the simple act of using the ATM which the would be doing anyways” commented Ford, owner of the SDVOSB.
Nick Black, co-founder and Vice Chairman of Stop Soldier Suicide and also a former Ranger and veteran of multiple combat tours agreed. “Nick’s developed an awesome model. Americans want to do well by our veterans. This makes it so easy - and it’s a huge opportunity for non-profits like ours that focus our resources on delivering services instead of the overhead of fundraising and administration.”
Black Dog ATM, LLC’s business model is both simple and painless. They supply and maintain the ATM machine - typically in veteran themed establishments like VFW, AMVETS and Legion posts. Competitive transaction fees are split with negotiated portions being automatically deposited monthly into the accounts of each the host location and the organization’s veterans’ charity of choice.
VFW Post 1093 Sr. Vice Commander Bob Metz was equally enthusiastic. “As an active VFW Post we’re committed to contributing to our community and supporting veterans in various ways. Being able to support a SDVOSB like Nick’s is a natural for us, and offering an easy way for our members and guests to contribute to help reduce the tragedy of soldier suicide is a win-win-win. Employment and suicide are two of the largest problems facing veterans today - and in this case it’s clear that when it comes to solutions, Rangers Lead the Way!”
