An exciting addition to the Branded Shirts' stable of British and international designer brands, TOME is widely renowned for its highly wearable, sculptural pieces that lend a desirability to everyday dressing.
Ryan Lobo and Ramon Martin, the designers behind Tome, first met at the University of Technology in Sydney in 1998 and formed a close bond from the start. Both went on to successful careers in fashion, Martin designed for fashion brands including Alberta Ferretti, Jean Paul Gaultier and Derek Lam, and Lobo as a buyer and leading stylist.
Afte thirteen years working independently, Lobo and Martin decided that the time was right for both to launch a label together, and TOME was born in 2010 from a small studio on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
It wasn’t long before TOME gained a loyal following and industry recognition. Last year the label was announced as a finalist for the Council of Fashion Designers America (CFDA)/Vogue Fashion Fund, one of the industry’s most prestigious prizes for up-and-coming designers. Such
acknowledgment from the CFDA has led to the TOME designers forming a personal relationship with Anna Wintour, the venerated editor of US Vogue, who visited their studio in New York to view the new collection.
