SPJA unveils lineup for Anime Expo’s 25th Event

Online PR News – 24-June-2016 – Santa Ana, CA – This year marks the 25th event for Anime Expo produced by The Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation (SPJA). This milestone experience will offer a variety of appearances, special events and performances that will not disappoint.

Anime Expo 2016 welcomes the world’s first Anisong World Matsuri - An event with a variety of live music and experiential performances including but not limited to Flo, JAM Project, Sphere, T.M Revolution, OLDCODEX’ first appearance in America and many more. The Anisong World Matsuri also includes a special celebration for One Punch Man and Love Live! Sunshine!!. Other exclusive performances and special guest stars include TeddyLoid, the electronic pop icon who will DJ a live set during the event’s fashion show as well as at the legendary Lounge 21. Concerts will include J-pop band,, performing their newly released “Phantom of the Kill” along with other hit favorites and The Cowboy Bebop Jazz Cat Experience which will introduce an immersive presentation with music, storytelling and visuals celebrating one of the most influential and celebrated anime of all time, Cowboy Bebop.

This years convention offers a variety of never-before-seen exclusives, and world premieres including Makoto Shinkai’s “your name.” and “Phantom of the Kill’s”. Following an announcement with Toonami’s co-production for FLCL (Fooly Cooly), a first look at the long anticipated original series’ season 2 will be unveiled. Additional industry leaders will be featured in guest panels throughout the weekend including Shoji Kawamori, Kenji Horikawa, Nami Sano, The Ghost in the Shell live action movie producer Ari Arad and others.

The event provides gamers and cosplayers direct access to parties, demos and panels. Attendees can also look forward to the opportunity to meet their favorite Cosplay Senpai participants Stella Chuu, Vampy Bit Me and J. Hart as well as video game creators like Koji Igarashi (Castlevania, Bloodstained), Keiji Inafune (Mega Man) and Kotaro Uchikoshi (Zero Escape). Additional weekend highlights offer cosplayers unique photo opportunities with full sets while gamers can look forward to an exclusive launch party for Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithfulness following the much-anticipated release date.

Through the direction of 6 Japanese companies, “ANISONG WORLD MATSURI” is an Animation/ANISONG event that will take place on July 2nd and July 3rd jointly with ANIME EXPO 2016. Events pertaining to “Love Live! Sunshine” and “ONE PUNCH MAN” will be held in the Main Events Hall. “Love Live!
