We Were Soldiers Too is a book series that tells the history of the Cold War from the perspective of different veterans who served during this critical time in history. Book two covers the careers of seventeen veterans from 1960 through 1989 with details of the Cold War and the lives of the soldiers who served as the first line of defense against the horde of the Soviet military gathered just across the border.

Their job was simple, defend the Fulda Gap, an area just an hour from Frankfurt, that was the only possible avenue the Soviets could take to invade Europe. A mission that only required the gap to be held for forty-eight hours until the rest of the NATO countries would arrive. None of the soldiers were expected to survive. They knew this and were still ready and willing to give their lives to stop the Soviets from spreading communism.
