Chefs Jonathan Pflueger and Jessica McLeish Launch Plant-Based Farm-to-Table Food Delivery Service

Laguna Beach-based Sourced Cuisine delivers a weekly box of prepared farm to table meals made with the freshest available produce sourced from organic and hydroponic farms in Orange County. All meals are dairy, gluten and refined sugar-free.

Sourced Cuisine announces the launch of clean protein additions to its farm to table gourmet meal delivery service, the first of this category in Orange County with a menu that sources 90 percent of its produce from farms in Orange County.

“Freshly picked produce that has been grown organically, in good soil and vine ripened has higher nutrient density and flavour than food harvested and shipped over weeks through the food system,” said Co-Founder Jessica McLeish. “We started Sourced Cuisine after working with local farms and realizing how good it felt to eat freshly picked local food.

Sourced Cuisine designs a different menu each week based on what is seasonal and growing in Orange County. The company works with Bluebird Canyon Farm, South Coast Farm, Alegria Farm, OC Produce, Manassero Farm and Smith Farm. These farms are located in Irvine, Laguna Beach and San Juan Capistrano. The company prepares a weekly delivery of plant-based meals, including soups, salads, sides, entrees and desserts. The meals can be ordered vegan or with responsibly sourced proteins added on. The food is made without dairy, egg, gluten and refined sugar. All the food is made with the produce grown free of chemicals at Orange County farms to ensure freshness and optimal nutrient content. Sourced chefs go to the farms each week and select ingredients grown on site.

Laguna Beach foodies remember Pflueger from his successful restaurant in downtown Laguna Beach, Vertical, or from his work as chef at top local restaurants and resorts including The Ritz, Ritz-Carlton, Hush and Montage. He returned to his roots after several award winning restaurant ventures around the world, most recently with the Eastside, the top-ranked restaurant on Kauai. His two decades of culinary globetrotting include working as executive chef of the Russian Tea Room, rating as Chef of the Year in San Diego with the award-winning Star of the Sea Room, and working at Michelin 3-star restaurants in France.

“We introduced this concept especially for those who want the highest quality produce in their meals but don’t have time to source their food from local farms and handle a lot of preparation,” said Pflueger. “This service nourishes our community and our local farmers who are working hard to produce fresh food in Orange County.”

McLeish is a publicist and raw food chef, who has worked with clients as a private chef offering locally sourced raw and vegan meals, snacks and desserts to support people seeking better health.

Packaging used is recyclable and compostable. Each box is $145, which includes healthy meal delivery in Orange County.
