Online PR News – 10-May-2016 – MARYVILLE, Ill. – Foley Dental Group, a local area dental practice that serves the Metro East St. Louis region, will be hosting a blood drive on Mon., May 23 in coordination with the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center.
The fourth annual blood drive will take place at Foley Dental Group’s location from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. In addition, special guest Rizzuto from St. Louis’s local radio station 105.7 The Point will make an appearance at the drive from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Foley Dental Group will also give away a flat-screen TV to one lucky donor.
“We care about our patients’ health and the well-being of the community at large. That’s why we’re holding this blood drive,” said Dr. Andrea Foley, owner of Foley Dental Group. “We are hoping for a large turnout to this event so that the community can benefit. You never know when you or your loved one will need a blood donation.”
According to the American Red Cross, someone in the nation needs blood every two seconds, and more than 41,000 blood donations are needed daily. While an estimated 38 percent of the population in America is eligible to donate, less than 10 percent actually do each year. One donation can help save the lives of up to three people.
“We really hope that people will join us and show their support for the local community by coming to the blood drive,” said Dr. Foley.
The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is the exclusive provider of blood products and services to 88 hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, and Wisconsin. The Blood Center is based in Davenport, Iowa, where MVRBC’s testing, processing, and primary distribution center handles more than 250,000 units of blood components each year.
Foley Dental Group opened its doors in June 2009 and has been providing Maryville with quality dental care ever since. The staff at Foley Dental Group is dedicated to delivering optimal service to their patients in a relaxing environment.
In the office patients can enjoy freshly baked cookies while lounging in massaging dental chairs. There are even overhead monitors where they can watch television or a movie during dental procedures.
