Online PR News – 06-May-2016 – Dickerson, Maryland – What: L-Dubâ€™s Love, Inc., a charity dedicated to supporting families of critically ill children who are being treated at the NIH Clinical Center is holding their annual fundraiser. The charity was started by Annette Weller at the request of her daughter, Lauren Marie Weller Sidorowicz (nicknamed L-Dub). In 2011, Lauren succumbed to Ewingâ€™s Sarcoma, a rare childhood cancer that sheâ€™d battled for seven years. During those years, Lauren spent a lot of time at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) receiving chemotherapy and various treatments. While there, she noticed that many children were there whose families could not afford to travel and be with them. Children are sent to NIH for treatment from around the world. Scared and facing serious medical treatment or end of life, many of these children have only one caregiver by their side. Lauren, having lived nearby, had many family members and friends with her during treatment. When Lauren died, she left a letter for her mother asking her to please start a charity to raise money so the families of critically ill children at NIH could be together. She wrote, â€śMaybe for at least 5 years (I hate to burden you with this forever) there could be a fundraiser to help people get to treatment.â€ť Annette Weller, Laurenâ€™s mother started L-Dubâ€™s Love, Inc. to honor Laurenâ€™s wishes.
When: Thursday, May 19 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. A silent auction will take place from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Additional: There will be wine tasting, food pairing, and jazz music under a tent on the terrace of the Comus Inn with all proceeds going to L-Dubâ€™s Love, Inc. (supporting families of children being treated at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center). The Comus Inn will supply an array of hors de oeuvres to compliment wine from local vineyards, all while being serenaded by jazz musician Kerensa Gray. There will also be a silent auction with many wonderful items available. The cost of this event is $49.95, prepaid. Attendance is limited to the first 150 people.
