The citizens of Walworth County deserve a District Attorney who knows the law enforcement, judges, social workers, prosecutors, and courthouse staff of Walworth County."
Wiedenfeld is running for Walworth County District Attorney. Wiedenfeld, a Republican from Elkhorn, was previously an Assistant District Attorney in Walworth County for 5 years (2008-2013) and served as the Circuit Court Commissioner in Walworth County for the last 3 years (2013-2016).
Sheriff Kurt Picknell, former Sheriff David Graves, Elkhorn Police Chief Joel Christensen, Lake Geneva Police Chief Mike Rasmussen, town of Delavan Police Chief Ray Clark, Williams Bay Police Chief Robert Pruessing, Fontana Police Chief Steve Olson, retired Delavan Police Chief Larry Malsch, retired Village of Genoa City Police Chief John Marra, and Geneva Lakes Law Enforcement Agency Cmdr. Thomas Hausner are all endorsing Wiedenfeld. Walworth County Clerk of Courts Sheila Reiff is also backing his candidacy.
Wiedenfeld adds, "I want the District Attorney’s Office to embrace technology that can make prosecutions more efficient. I want to be a leader in looking for ways to prevent crime and aggressively prosecute the criminals who commit crimes in Walworth County. I will work hard to serve the citizens of Walworth County because I am passionate about protecting and serving our community."
The primary will be held on August 9, 2016, with the election on November 8, 2016.
