ALISON Founder To Visit India To Celebrate One Million Learner Milestone

Free Online Learning Pioneer Mike Feerick will visit India from May 12th-22nd including New Delhi, Bhopal, Mumbai, and Bangalore

Online PR News – 24-April-2016 – Galway, Ireland – ALISON is about to reach one million learners in India and to celebrate this milestone, ALISON CEO & Founder Mike Feerick will be visiting India from the 12th to 22nd of May next. Mike will meet with government officials with responsibility for education and skills training, visit partner organisations, and has invited a small number of ALISON graduates to meet.
Speaking about his upcoming trip, Mike Feerick commented “The very fact that ALISON is approaching one million registered learners in India, and that no one from ALISON has ever visited India, is a testament to the power of free online learning. India is predicted to have 17% of the world’ workforce by the year 2020, so the mass development of workplace skills in India is not just an India issue, but an issue of global importance.”

ALISON Learners across India have responded enthusiastically to the announcement and Mr Feerick will be meeting groups of ALISON Graduates in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.

Ravikant, an ALISON learner from Bangalore, recalls “The first time I visited ALISON I was astonished as I thought free online learning was a myth…. I can still remember the first course I completed psychology. I was amazed at the skills I could learn…… after that experience I began to think of ALISON less as a learning portal, and more as temple of knowledge, and I a learning devotee.”

During Mr Feerick’s visit to India he will also be meeting members of the press to discuss ALISON’s vision for free online learning in India.
