St. Mary’s School, Vatsalya School and Orbis school lift the Orbis PFC Invitational Cup 2016

Online PR News – 22-April-2016 – Pune – The Orbis PFC Invitational Cup, the annual festival of football, where schools of Pune compete for the prestigious Orbis PFC Cup, became bigger this year with the inclusion of U-13 category besides the U-16 category for boys and girls. The competition witnessed keen participation, as each category was represented by 8 school from different parts of Pune. The tournament was held at Orbis School ground in Mundhwa.

Pune based schools such as The Orbis School, St. Mary’s School, Amanora School, Dastur School, Pawar Public School, Podar School, Vatsalya School etc. participated in this tournament.

During the Orbis PFC Invitational Cup, Mr. Naushad Musa, Head Coach PFC U-19 and Mr. Ashish Rai, U-17 player of Indian football team were the chief guests. Both of them shared their valuable insights into the game of football with students participating in the tournament.

The coveted under-13 cup in both the boys and girls category was lifted by Vatsalya School; while Pawar Public School and Amanora School were the runners up in this category. Kiran Saud from Vatsalya was adjudged the top scorer, Piyusha Thange from Amanora school the best goal keeper and Girija Chavan from Podar school, the best player.

In the U-16 girls category the Orbis PFC Invitational Cup was lifted by St. Mary's School and the U-16 boy’s cup was bagged by the Orbis School. The runners up were Podar School and Pawar Public School respectively.

All the participating schools displayed great skills and sportsman’s spirit throughout the tournament which is growing every year. An initiative like Orbis PFC Invitational Cup will indeed help football grow in Pune as well as the country.
