Woman owned, Barbara Wilson Landscape Architect, LLC, Opens in New Canaan, CT

Online PR News – 22-March-2016 – New Canaan, CT – Barbara Wilson, landscape architect, is proud to announce the opening of her woman owned firm, Barbara Wilson Landscape Architect (BWLA), LLC, in New Canaan, CT.

“I am excited to be able to launch this unique, full service landscape architecture and design firm in New Canaan,” says Barbara Wilson, principal at the firm and a long time town resident. “My aim is to provide homeowners, as well as institutional and commercial clients, with the kinds of high quality and appropriate designs that are environmentally responsible, meet the clients’ needs and address unique site conditions.”

Homeowners looking for designs for the very latest outdoor amenities: outdoor kitchens, entertainment spaces, pools, tennis courts, patios, or commercial projects seeking landscapes that provide year round interest, are deer resistant and low maintenance, will find it all, along with competitive pricing, at Barbara Wilson Landscape Architect (BWLA), LLC.

Barbara has a rich and extensive background in Landscape Architecture having worked for established mid sized firms in both Fairfield and Westchester Counties for over 22 years. As a former Senior Landscape Architect and Project Manager at those firms Barbara is renown within the industry for her high-level design expertise, as well as top rate customer service. In an industry dominated by large and/or men owned firms her woman owned business is a rarity, and allows Barbara to marry 22 years of big firm expertise with a very client oriented, individualized service. “There’s no cookie cutter approach here,” she says.

BWLA provides a full range of Landscape Architecture services including: Master Planning, Site Planning, Sustainable Design, Planting Design, Wetland Applications, Site Plan Approvals, Municipal Application and Representation, and Construction Documents and Administration. One of the most recent projects involved the Levitt Pavilion in Westport where Barbara helped acquire the wetlands permit, created the plant design and supervised the installation.

“Our expertise guides a project from programming and feasibility through conceptual planning, regulatory permits, construction documentation and administration and transitions into long term maintenance of the finished project,” she explains. “We begin each project with an evaluation of the qualities of the site, develop a site analysis plan and then integrate the desired programming needs and requirements to develop the initial master plan. As needed we can also help take the project to completion.” Barbara’s extensive, first hand contacts with a specialized group of skilled and knowledgeable contractors completes the picture.

While Barbara’s expertise is extensive her specialty, as a former member of New Canaan’s Inland Wetlands Commission, is guiding clients through the wetlands permit approval process.

“Clients with a pond, stream or wet wooded site should definitely speak to me,” she says. She offers everyone a free one-hour consultation.
