Online PR News – 17-March-2016 – Harrogate, North Yorkshire – Brand New Women’s Centre To Open in Harrogate

Horizon Life Training in Killinghall, Harrogate is in the redevelopment stages of a former public house, The Black Bull in Kettlesing and transforming it into a Women’s Centre to help those who need a second chance at life.

The new Women’s Centre ‘Experience Coffee’ offers hope to those who are ready to take it, and it will provide eight women with a safe place to live, gain work experience at the onsite coffee shop, and they’ll share valuable life lessons including parenting skills, general support and counseling, all of which are run by the team at Horizon Life Training.

Horizon Life Training is a Christian charity, which aims to take people who have already begun their journey, having found freedom from their addictions to drugs or alcohol, on to the next step of being restored into the community, enabling them to achieve valuable work experience and qualifications. The Charity, which runs from Kennel Hall Farm in North Yorkshire benefits financially from a collection of trusts, charitable foundations and through private donations.

There are two planned taster events to open the doors to ‘Experience Coffee’ to the general public to see the progress and transformation of the former pub into what it will become in August, these events are due to run:

Sunday 1st May 2016 at 3pm – 5pm
Saturday 21st May 2016 at 3pm – 5pm

Both taster events will be a mini showcase of what each of the eight bedrooms are going to look like, with informed guided tours of the bedrooms, the communal lounge, and also the glass fronted balcony setting – with the beautiful views of the valley below.

There will be a few complimentary treats to entice potential supporters and sponsors to come and take a look, but the motto is ‘Mum’s The Word’, so those treats are currently under wraps!

These events are free to attend, and will give the general public the opportunity to see the ‘work in progress’ renovation of the old Black Bull Pub being transformed into the Horizon Life Training Women’s Centre.

The Women’s Centre ‘Experience Coffee’ will house a large coffee shop, Christian Bookshop with a difference, plus other craft/art/food retailers, conferencing facilities, family room for chat and play, and an outdoor children’s play area. All nestled in the heart of Harrogate’s glorious countryside plus plenty of free parking.

Brian Hendlesby, Chief Operating Officer of Horizon Life Training says; “Without the help, support and financial donations from the Liz & Terry Bramall Foundation and all our generous donators, this project, the Horizon Life Training Women’s Centre wouldn’t be possible.

When we took on the former public house site in Kettlesing it was in need of total renovation, now we’re a year and half down the line of a true transformation, and we want to show it to the rest of the region in our taster days.

We know that our women’s centre, ‘Experience Coffee’ is going to touch the hearts of many women and men across the region and that they will want to help make it the success it deserves to be. We’ll look forward to welcoming any visitors on the 1st and 21st May to our special events.”

The taster days are open to anyone with a vested interest in Horizon Life Training, the Harrogate area, renovation of public houses, or for those who want to know more about the women’s centre.
