Boys & Girls Clubs representatives nationwide meet with government leaders to advocate for America's kids

Online PR News – 16-March-2016 – DALLAS, TX – Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas (BGCD), Chief Executive Officer, Charles English, and BGCD’s 2015 Youth of the Year, Cecilia Garza, will be attending Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Day of Advocacy in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, March 16. Leaders from Boys & Girls Club organizations from around the country will gather in our nation’s capitol to meet with members of Congress to champion the needs of local youth.

“During the National Day of Advocacy, our aim is to educate leadership on Capitol Hill about the work being done in our local communities and how federal policies and investments directly influence America’s youth,” said Mr. English, BGCD President and CEO, “This is a unique opportunity to demonstrate both the local impact of our Clubs and our combined footprint as a national youth advocacy organization.”

This collective movement serves as an opportunity for Boys & Girls Clubs to build awareness and garner support in their mission to enable all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. The primary policies and programs to be addressed include Youth Mentoring, USDA Meal Programs and 21st Century Community Learning Centers.
