The Tyre and Rim Association of Australia Standards Manual is revised on an annual basis to include the advances of new technical data for tyres and rims.

Online PR News – 06-March-2016 – Melbourne, Victoria – The Tyre and Rim Association of Australia Standards Manual is revised on an annual basis to include the advances of new technical data for tyres and rims, so that the Manual reflects the latest world-wide standards for these products within the jurisdiction of the Association.

There has been a massive proliferation of tyre size additions over the last half decade. They apply in particular to Passenger Car, Light Truck and Agricultural tyres. There is a large amount of new data for Passenger and Light Truck ranges, with the Agricultural range again having significant changes in the 2016 Standards Manual
This new data is sourced from the Tire & Rim Association Inc in the USA, and the European Tyre & Rim Technical Organisation, both being the world’s premier technical bodies. This ensures that the T&RAA Standards Manual remains updated and comprehensive.

The Standards Manual is the “bible” of the industry and is a valuable tool for all those involved with tyres and rims, whether from sales, design or technical disciplines.

Manufacturers, retailers and authorities who deal in machinery where tyres, rims, wheels or valves are used, will find benefit from the new 2016 edition of The Tyre and Rim Association Standards Manual.

Contents of the Standards Manual for passenger, truck, bus, off the road, 4WD, agricultural, industrial and motor cycles include:

• All current dimensional specifications for standard rims
• Recommended tyre to rim combination
• General data, load and inflation tables
• Valve standards
• Inspection standards
• Supplementary standards
Tyres play a major role in vehicle handling and comfort. Correct tyre pressures will extend the life of tyres. The Australian Standards Manual recommended inflation tables detail correct tyre pressures for all types of vehicles.

Some obsolete data has been moved to the Supplementary Data where it will remain for a period before being deleted entirely.

The Manual is a Nominated Standard in the Australian Design Rules for vehicles and is also used as the legal reference document by government, police and other regulatory bodies.

As it is the “Bible” of the industry with respect to technical data it is invaluable for tyre stores, tyre wholesale companies and those involved with the application, performance and maintenance of tyres in the field.
