In October 2010, Kaustuv acquired 46% shareholding of Ontrack Systems Limited [Bloomberg OTS:IN], a 27 year old ICT company, as a co-promoter. Ontrack Systems Limited is listed in the Madras and Bombay Stock Exchanges, with its registered office in Chennai and Corporate office in Kolkata. Ontrack has been a strong player in the web services, software development, training, BPO and e-governance sectors. It started, India’s first tender web daily and had global subsidiaries in UK, UAE and Australia. From very modest beginnings it grew its business in the domestic and international markets and made significant goodwill in the IT/ITES market space.
Being an avid sportsman, coupled with his innovative and fresh ideas for branding, Kaustuv had made a mark in Indian football too by promoting Chirag United Sports Club, which became one of the top football clubs in India within a very short time when Kaustuv looked after its management affairs. Affiliated to both AIFF and IFA, the ‘Boys in Purple’ amassed a steady fan following across India, especially after their success in winning the prestigious Durand Cup in 2010.
