StarMaker's Collab Lab Series Features Mash-ups By Top Social Talent
Online PR News – 09-December-2015 – Los Angeles, CA – Who doesn't get hyped when a new artist covers a track, truly makes it their own, and lights a whole new kinda fire under the original song?
Unless you just raised your hand - which, let's be honest, you didn't - you'll wanna check out former American Idol contestants Alex Hobbs and Ciatu Kromah bringing the heat to Kaya Stewart's "In Love With A Boy".
Alex and Ciatu take on Stewart's Top 40 hit with a soulful and sultry rendition that brings a grittier, more melodic vibe to the song. The alluring video shows the singers as two young singles, separated by the shared wall of an apartment building. The recording and video - produced by leading New Media and Artist Development company StarMaker as part of its Collab Lab series - highlights the two up-and-coming artists, performing the song as a duet, each from their own perspective.
Alex is a Los Angeles native who has been recording originals and covers on YouTube for almost 10 years. Ciatu's heritage is West African and she currently lives in North Carolina. Both artists were part of the same season of American Idol, each being selected for Hollywood Week, but only met after joining
StarMaker to develop their musical careers. StarMaker paired these two incredible artists up for their original programming series Collab Lab which features mash-ups by top social talent from their roster.
"StarMaker took an interest in my talents. They've opened doors and given me opportunities that I couldn't have dreamed of!" - Ciatu Kromah
Other recent StarMaker Colab Lab Music Videos have featured Andrew Garcia and KRNFX, Cammie Lester, and Kayla Korpics with Jake Coco / Tay Watts / Corey Gray. The newest version of the StarMaker app is available for download today on the iTunes App store and Google Play.
