‘Cornucopia Radio’ announce three new productions available for download this December. Including two new comedy Christmas specials and a brand new audio-drama.

Online PR News – 08-December-2015 – Sheffield, South Yorkshire – ‘Cornucopia Radio’ was created in 2008 by a number of local writers and performers to create professionally produced audio-drama and comedy shows which are then re-broadcast by a selection of independent stations across the UK and also distributed to an international audience through digital platforms like itunes and stitcher-radio. They won a ‘British Public Radio’ award in 2013 and this year made it to the final round of the “UK Podcast Awards 2015”

This month, they are proud to announce three new radio shows; which will all be available to download from their own website and to stream from all major internet platforms.

On the 15th of December, they are releasing a Christmas special of their radio sitcom ‘The Legend of Nic and Joe’. The special stars ‘Dave Benson Phillips’ A face familiar to anybody who grew up in the 90's and star of ‘Get Your Own Back’ on CBBC. Dave finds himself with a role he was born to play; that of a psychotic killer snowman, accidentally brought to life by Nic & Joe!

We also have ‘Jessica-Jane Stafford’, star of BBC Three's ‘The Real Hustle’; joining the cast, alongside regular performers: Nic Bowden, Joe Lister-Streep, Simon Atherton, Emma Smyth, Matt Risby, Jo Beadle & Sarah Deery.

As well as this; they have already released a full cast radio drama this month called ‘Last Gambit in Lisbon’; focusing on real life events in 1946 when World Chess Champion, Alexander Alekhine; died in mysterious circumstances. Written by Christopher Bellamy & Brian Stephenson, this provocative production is already proving a big hit within the Chess community.

Lastly this month, this eclectic collective known as ‘Cornucopia Radio’ has also started a new series of it’s improv comedy panel show, “A Little Bit Racey”, in which a number of comedians come together to create a unique story in which they battle each other over three minutes to reach a unique destination with different objects, companions and modes of transport. They started the new series with a Christmas special and this will be followed later in the month, with a ‘Star Wars’ special, to celebrate the release of the new film.

Peter Beeston; who created ‘Cornucopia Radio’ is excited about what they’ve created this month and even more so for the future, “Sheffield is a city of limitless creativity, and producing high quality radio comedy and drama is a brilliant and easy way to tap into that” he explains, “and with more mobile audio devices appearing everyday, people now want a greater range of things to listen to while they’re out and about. We have an ‘open door’ policy on all our scripts; if somebody sends us something and it’s good enough, we’ll try and produce it!”
