John Fumero and Gregory Hyden, of Nason, Yeager successfully represented the city of Port St. Lucie in a lawsuit trying to block Crosstown Parkway bridge.
Online PR News – 05-December-2015 – Boca Raton, FL – Attorneys John J. Fumero and R. Gregory Hyden, of Nason, Yeager, Gerson, White & Lioce, P.A. successfully represented the city of Port St. Lucie in a lawsuit by local environmentalists trying to block construction of the Crosstown Parkway bridge. On November 5, 2015, a federal judge granted the defendants’ Motion for Summary Judgement, paving the way for the city to build along its chosen route.
The bridge is a critical component of the Crosstown Parkway, which would be Port St. Lucie’s third east-west thoroughfare. It would carry the roadway over the St. Lucie River.
U.S. District Court Judge Donald Middlebrooks ruled the Federal Highway Administration and U.S. Department of Transportation chose the best route and gave careful consideration to the environment during the decision-making process.
“We are pleased that the federal court recognized the city of Port St. Lucie’s significant commitment to protecting the state’s natural resources, while working closely with all of the involved federal and state agencies and stakeholders,” said Fumero. “This win was essential to the completion of this much-needed bridge by the end of 2018.”
