New Development from VistaTEC will support KantanAPI within the Okapi Framework, leading to further development in the language and localization industry
Online PR News – 11-November-2015 – Dublin – KantanMT is very pleased to announce that the development team at VistaTEC have created a code, which will now allow users of the open source Okapi Framework to use KantanMT for their translation and localization needs. This association between VistaTEC, Okapi Framework and KantanMT will substantially enhance the integration capabilities of KantanMT.com, while allowing Okapi users of translation automation kits to work with the high-quality translation capabilities of KantanMT.
The Okapi Framework is a cross-platform, open-source set of components and applications that offer extensive support for localizing and translating documentation and software. They are the definitive standard for using MT through API systems and with VistaTEC’s help, the KantanAPI™ now complies with the Okapi Standard.
One of the main applications that Okapi provides is called Rainbow, which allows users to specify their input files for localization and what tasks should be carried out on those files in order to create a translation kit. For users working with machine translation, they will now be able to easily integrate with the KantanMT connector.
“This new integration capability is a great step forward for KantanMT,” said Tony O’Dowd, Founder and Chief Architect of KantanMT.com. “The fact that users can now enjoy the benefits of KantanMT within the open-source Okapi Framework will open up exciting new possibilities within the translation industry. VistaTEC’s work in making this KantanAPI standardisation possible will showcase benefits of KantanMT to a new audience.”
