Online PR News – 23-September-2010 – – Last Thursday, a team of Damart staff set off on a 3 day bike ride in aid of Cancer Research UK.
The Damartsport team included staff from several of the company’s departments including the Managing Director Andy Hill, Finance and Customer Services Director Stuart Creeley, IS & Logistics Director George Vasili and Facilities Manager Stephen Kennedy. Together they have already raised more than £3000 for this worthwhile charity which saves millions of lives each year by discovering new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.
Damart’s Managing Director, Andy Hill said: “We’re delighted to be not only sponsoring the event but also taking part. The training has been challenging but the team has stayed motivated because it’s for such a worthy cause.”
The athletes trained hard in preparation for their tough 135 mile bike ride, which crossed Britain coast to coast from the Irish Sea to the North Sea. On Thursday, they set off from Whitehaven in Cumbria and arrived in Sunderland on Sunday.
Ginny Leonard who is the Charity Adventure Event Organiser, said: “This year’s Sea2Sea bike ride received a great response with 29 riders taking part. Here at Charity Adventure we appreciate Damart’s support ’’
