Online PR News – 07-October-2015 – San Francisco, CA – Femgineer founder, author and speaker, Poornima Vijayashanker will join other influential leaders, including Meg Whitman, at RICHTECH’s Women Etc. event that celebrates women in tech taking place October 22-23 in Richmond, VA. Poornima, who authored the book, How to Transform Your Ideas into Software Products, will give a talk titled: “How to Ship Your Ideas”. She will also conduct a workshop, “Speak Up! Delivering Your First Lightning Talk” based on her upcoming book: Present! A Step-by-Step Guide to Public Speaking.
“When I turned my blog, Femgineer, into the education company it is today, my goal was to help women in tech level up their careers. While Femgineer is certainly not exclusively for women and continues to educate all tech professionals who want to build products and companies, I still passionately advocate for women in my field. I hope to make an impact on improving diversity and increasing the number of successful tech women out there,” said Poornima.
Women Etc. is a two-day event that brings leading tech women together to share their knowledge, expertise, and encouragement to empower and advance women in tech. In addition to speeches and workshops, women in tech will be awarded at the Margaret McDermid Women in Tech Awards on Thursday, October 22.
Poornima, who speaks around the world at industry events, is honored to be a part of this year’s Women Etc. “I think as women who have achieved success in tech, it’s our duty to help other women make their way as well. I’ve learned a lot from my time at Mint to now with Femgineer, so why shouldn’t I share my experience to help out my fellow women in tech,” said Poornima.
