SGS Hong Kong and SGS Shenzhen are accredited to perform INMETRO TOY TESTING
09/21/2010

Based on the new Administrative Rule 321/2009, foreign labs accredited by the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) are allowed to test toy for conformity with system 5 and those accredited by INMETRO can test toy shipments under system 7 for certification to the Brazilian MERCOSUR Technical Regulations on Toy Safety.

Online PR News – 21-September-2010 – – In August 2010, SGS laboratories in Hong Kong (http://www.hk.sgs.com/hardlines.htm?catId=31517&lobId=27264&type=segment) and Shenzhen have gained INMETRO accreditation which allow them to conduct tests for both system 5 and system 7. Upon a client's request, SGS can pick up samples at the factory and conduct testing at the Hong Kong and Shenzhen facilities. SGS testing reports are reviewed by the local accredited certification assessment body (e.g. INNAC) and a certificate of compliance is issued. This will enable the importer to place the INMETRO mark on products destined for the Brazilian market.
