Plastic Surgery: The Meeting 2015 Features Everything New in the World of Plastic Surgery

Online PR News – 08-September-2015 – Chicago, IL – The 84th annual scientific conference, Plastic Surgery: The Meeting, will feature extraordinary offerings in all areas of plastic and reconstructive surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) announced today.

The Meeting, which will be held October 16-20 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in Boston, has been skillfully developed to provide an extraordinary experience to plastic surgeons, residents and other allied health professionals interested in bringing the most leading-edge clinical information to their practice, and enhancing patient satisfaction and surgical outcomes.

"Plastic Surgery The Meeting 2015 is the premier scientific gathering for plastic and reconstructive surgeons; there is simply no other venue which offers such a wide range of topics," Scot B. Glasberg, MD, President of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, said. "Our presenters are the most respected and elite surgeons and educators from around the world."

The 3,000 expected attendees will have access 90 different instructional courses, presented by leading experts in their respective disciplines, including three transgender surgery sessions, and 300 exhibitors with the latest in medical devices.

The year’s meeting will also inaugurate the first ever “Thunderdome” between competing surgeons to debate the best practices for various surgical procedures, with the winner selected by their peers from the audience. And, the "Iron Surgeon" session will return, where last year’s winner defends his title and his “secret ingredient” against several other contestants.

For the younger surgeons, the Residents Bowl will have up to 32 teams participate, bracket-style in answering questions, and they face off against other schools’ teams to narrow it down to the winner. Last year’s champion, Ohio State University is ready to take on their competition!

"For 84 years, The Meeting has helped thousands of aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgeons advance in all aspects of their surgical career and practice. This year’s offerings follow that tradition, with sessions unmatched in their innovation and importance to the profession," Glasberg noted.
