IronmongeryDirect, the UK's largest multi-channel supplier of ironmongery products to the trade, has announced today half year results with turnover up 30% to £5.7m compared with £4.4m for the same period in 2009.

IronmongeryDirect, the UK's largest multi-channel supplier of ironmongery products to the trade, has announced today half year results with turnover up 30% to £5.7m compared with £4.4m for the same period in 2009.

Wayne Lysaght-Mason, Managing Director of IronmongeryDirect says; "We are on target for a 6th year of consecutive growth, with company plans on track for turnover of £50million in 2015. Our sustained growth is a direct result of our obsession for delivering Service Excellence. We are committed to providing outstanding customer service and this is reflected not only in sales growth but also our increased customer base which was up by 44% in 2009. It has been a tough market, but we have risen to this challenge."

Significant investment by the company in both processes and people has also supported this growth. A new Content Management System was implemented at the end of 2009, helping to synchronize sales channels and streamline the process of catalogue creation and web content. In line with catalogue industry trends IronmongeryDirect has seen its online turnover grow significantly - by 87%.

Despite the recession, which has seen a severe decline in overall construction activity, IronmongeryDirect has been recruiting an impressive 700 new customers per week. Offering expert knowledge and technical support, it stocks over 11,500 products for same day dispatch, and customers can order through its catalogue, or via telephone, fax, email or its website. IronmongeryDirect has the capability to fulfill orders on next day delivery as standard - ensuring that trade customers are Fit for Tomorrow.
