Kent, a trusted brand in water filter sector, has collaborated hands with IMA to raise awareness about prevention against water borne diseases.
Online PR News – 01-July-2015 – 30-June-15 Mumbai / Maharashtra – Kent, a brand known worldwide for its innovative brilliance in the sector of healthcare products, has decided to embark on a unique and noble quest.
The water filter giant joined hands with Indian Medical Association (IMA) to increase awareness about prevention of water borne diseases. The duo recently launched a campaign christened 'IMA Swachh Bharat Swasth Bharat' with a focus on safe water consumption.
Executives from both sides pointed out some rather interesting facts at the launch event. According to A. Marthanda Pillai (National President, IMA) and K.K. Aggarwal, (Hon. Secretary General, IMA) the Indian Constitution (under Article 47) makes it one of the primary duties of the State to provide clean and safe drinking water to its citizens.
However, this rule does not seem to benefit the three lakh Indian children that are severely affected before the age of three. Provided children with clean drinking water can protect them from serious health damages.
The executives also disclosed that approximately 70% of the Indian population has no access to safe drinking water. Citing the World Health Organization (WHO) statistics, the executives said, that water-borne diseases account for around 4.1% of the total global disease burden and cause ~1.8 million deaths annually. In fact, approximately 88% of this is attributed to unsafe water supply, sanitation and hygiene. This is quite disturbing, especially due to the fact that it is related to one of the basic necessities of mankind.
Elaborating further on the initiative was Mr. Mahesh Gupta (CMD, Kent RO Systems Ltd.) He stated that the program is aimed at ensuring availability of clean and healthy drinking water across the country. "We understand the intrinsic relationship between access to clean and safe drinking water, and a healthy India. We hope this partnership will be able to raise awareness about the issue and make a difference to the society," said Gupta.
After winning the trust of many with the best water purifier in India (Read Kent’s mineral RO), Kent is on the right track to win hearts. Way to go Kent, keep up the good work.
